Trout opener 2007 set a record of 18 (bean eater members that is). The river was high even by spring standards. The main branch was nearly unfishable in waders. Even the float boats had trouble navigating the current. Steelhead were abundant this year but not hungry. Even so, I had some nice action on the Little South and took the opportunity to introduce my son Eric to fishing the mouse "hatch" at night. A special treat this year was a catfish fry by the Indiana chapter, including an exceptionally tasty fish chowder. Of course the big event was the grilled cow and beans (note the pile of beef on the porch handrail). Jon, as always, the perfect host.
